Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems for Ultrasound Machines, We Do That Too
A Hitachi HI Vision 6500 ultrasound machine is still running strong to this day after a near disastrous power surge thanks to the built in fuse on the attached Battery Backup Power, Inc. uninterruptible power supply (UPS). A “cost effective” unlicensed and uninsured “electrician” working in another medical suite in the same building was blamed for accidentally causing the voltage to spike and then go out. Luckily, the fuse in the uninterruptible power supply took the hit, preventing the need for a $15k to $60k replacement ultrasound machine.
