It is most likely caused by electrical noise, voltage fluctuations, or a power outage. You can make your 3D printing operation "resilient" by adding a Battery Backup Power system. Our systems are designed and matched to every 3D printer based on a variety of factors including inrush (startup current), average requested backup time, and typical job completion time. 

Every backup system has either a serial or USB port or both for monitoring and alerts. Connecting a Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 computer to the backup system via the serial or USB cable will allow you to monitor battery status, load, and a variety of other factors.
